I teach Hatha yoga poses based on The Katonah Yoga Method, which emphasizes correct body mechanics and the acquisition of skill over habitual ways of holding, sitting and moving. Poses are constructed by geometric measure rather than by feel or guess work in order to develop a structure that best supports you. Sessions can be highly athletic or deeply restorative and the full spectrum in between.
Pilates is a core-based system of movement that incorporates flexibility and strength in equal measure while ensuring proper alignment. It teaches the initiation of movement from core and gluteal muscle groups.
Reiki is a healing practice wherein energy from molecules in the air is directed by practitioner to client. Reiki can be combined with yoga and pilates or sessions can be devoted entirely to Reiki. It is deeply healing, calms the nervous system and is an effective way to combat an array of issues, both physical and psychological, in a manner similar to meditation.
